STEM Outreach

Our team conducts continuous STEM outreach locally and abroad. In addition, we are committed to community service in our local community.

STEAMEX

We've built a strong relationship with STEAMEx FRC 6832 over the past five years. The FEDS raised over $20,000 to help them pay for their full FRC registration 4 years in a row. This relationship is mutually beneficial because we've learned so much from this partnership! STEAMEx helped us with our winning Chairman's submission in 2020-2021 and invited us to engage with a global FRC community (E-Reach) during the pandemic!

Yuwa

Yuwa is an all girls school in rural India that uses sports and education to combat child marriage. The FEDS raised funds to buy school supplies and donate Lego Mindstorm kits that helped them include a STEM focus in their curriculum.

International Rescue Committee (IRC)

Our donations of Lego Kits to the International Rescue Committee(IRC) are being used in after school programs with refugee children.

Annual STEM Book Drive

The FEDS collected 300+ STEM books for K-12 students.

These books were donated to "Little Free Libraries" in the area with the aim of putting STEM information into the hands of more kids.

Building Strong Connections with Community Leaders

United States Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin visited our team in January 2020, getting a tour and overview of our team and discussing what has been like to be a female in STEM and other male-dominated fields.

Rochester Community Schools Board of Education

Our team values nurturing strong partnerships with community leaders. We presented to our school board and were recognized by our Superintendent at a board meeting.

Here, the President of our school board visited the FEDS to learn more about our program.

Community Service Activities

Fall Cleanups for the Rainbow Connection

Annual Hunger Walks with the AdamBots

Walking in the "Walk for Warmth" with Genisys Credit Union, one of our sponsors

The FEDS contributed over 2000+ hours of mentoring/community service to the local community over the past five years, regularly collaborating with our sister schools and sponsors on service projects.
